| Monogram's U.S. Fighting Ships series were constructed from balsa wood with a pre-carved hull and print wood parts. There were five ships in the series and each one was approximately 16 inches long. |

| The images of the Monogram kit of the
cruiser USS
Chicago were furnished by Mike Horrell. He found the kit behind a
built-in
bookcase while remodeling his house. The other four kit images
were supplied by Arthur Hill with the help of his wife, Pauline. |
