| I found this kit in an Antique Store in Wisconsin.
I think I paid close to one hundred dollars for it. It appears to be about
1/48 scale with balsawood and two metal parts; the propellers. On the end
of the box is printed New York, N.Y.. No address appears on the box or
plans. There is a note on the plans to buy war bonds to win the war. No
date or copyright. The plans are well drawn, but I don't know how accurate
they are and it doesn't say which Mark of the Mosquito it is supposed to
be. The canopy is flat clear plastic with the frames printed on it. It
is put in boiling water to make it pliable so it can be pulled over a carved
form of the canopy shape. Too long in the water and it clouds up. |
