Comet Model Hobbycraft, inc.
Chicago 16, Illinois

These are the PL series of early Comet plastic aircraft kits from the early fifties I believe.
I now have the F-94C (PL-3) kit and may have had the F-100 (PL-2) when I was ten years
old. I would have liked to have had the F3D Skyknight kit. The scale is about 1/87 I believe.
They are typical of the early fifties plastic kits in that they have raise letters and national
insignia along with decals, no cockpit, and a stand instead of landing gear.  Cool stuff.

The box of the B-66 kit has the number PL-10 printed on it, but the instructions and decals have PL-20 printed on them.

Comet  Boeing  B-47  Stratojet  PL-12

The box of the B-47 kit has the number PL-12 on it , but the decals have the number PL-22 printed on them.

Below, I have shown two of the S Series of Comet Solid Scale Models that sold for .25 cents.
In the kit list above, only S1 thru S6 appears, but the F-88 Voodoo is kit S11 and the F-84
Thunderjet is kit S9. The kits are balsa wood with a vacuum formed canopy, decal sheet, and
hard wood wheels. The balsa parts had to be carved and sanded to shape. The price is printed
directly on the box at the ends of the box.
