Lockheed   F-80C   Shooting Star


This F-80C is located at the Air Force Armament Museum at Eglin AFB, Florida. This
aircraft has been restored incorrectly in my opinion. The wing tips are not the correct
shape. My email to the museum as to "Why the Shape" have gone unanswered. The wheel
wells are painted white. This is not the correct color for USAF F-80's. If you are detail-
ing the main wheel wells on your model, be aware that many small items are missing from
the wells. Apart from the above items, these are very good photos and show many details
of an F-80C correctly. Thanks to Major Don Hinton, USAF, for sharing his photos.
